Job Title: PHP Developer (CodeIgniter) – 2+ Years Experience

Location: Kuala Lumpur / Hybrid 

Job Type: Full-time/Contract (can be converted to permanent if performance good throughout)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced PHP Developer with strong proficiency in CodeIgniter Framework and at least 3 years of hands-on development experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications, implementing new features, optimizing performance, and ensuring high-quality code that meets business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain PHP-based web applications using the CodeIgniter framework (MUST)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, front-end developers, and product managers to deliver robust solutions.
• Write clean, reusable, and efficient PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL code.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services or APIs.
• Participate in all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC) — from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, test, and maintain core product software to ensure strong optimization and functionality.
• Manage version control and deployment using tools like Git.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices in web development.
• Work closely with the QA team to ensure the delivery of bug-free and secure applications.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in PHP development.
• Strong expertise with the CodeIgniter framework (other frameworks like Laravel are a plus).
• Solid understanding of OOP (Object-Oriented Programming) concepts and MVC architecture.
• Proficient in MySQL, including database design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
• Strong experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX.
• Familiarity with API integration (REST, JSON).
• Experience with Git / Bitbucket for version control.
• Understanding of web security, performance optimization, and best coding practices

• Experience with Laravel, WordPress, or other PHP frameworks.
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks like Vue.js or React.
• Experience with cloud deployment (AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.) or CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of Composer, NPM, or other package managers.
